Program

The purpose of Kids Club is to provide before and/or after school childcare in a planned program that offers activities and supervision. Children currently enrolled at the host schools are eligible for Kids Club.

Supervised childcare includes recreational activities supplemented with in-room activities such as arts and crafts, games, reading or story-telling, music, drama, the opportunity to complete school assignments, and free time. School breakfast will be served to all students. An after school snack is served at no extra charge.

Kids Club is held in the host Omaha Public Schools and administered by the Omaha Schools Foundation. Listed below are sites for the 2008-2009 school year.

Hours of Operation

6:30 am at Adams, Benson West, Catlin, Chandler View, Edison, Jefferson, Pawnee, Picotte, Prairie Wind, and Sunny Slope.

7:00 am at Ashland Park/Robbins, Bancroft, Beals, Belle Ryan, Boyd, Columbian, Crestridge, Dodge, Dundee, Field Club, Fullerton, Gomez Heritage, Harrison, Indian Hill, Kellom, Masters, Minne Lusa, Oak Valley, Pinewood, Ponca, Rose Hill, Spring Lake, Springville, Washington, and Western Hills

Kids Club is open until school begins (approximately 8:45 am) and from dismissal of school (approximately 3:45 pm) until 6:00 pm.

Days of Operation at Each Site

The program operates at each site on days when school is in session. (See calendar.) Service will be provided when school is dismissed early.

Fees

There is an annual registration of $20.00 per child NON-REFUNDABLE. There is an hourly charge of $3.25 per hour with a minimum charge of $6.50 each day the service is used. Additional children in the same family are charged at a rate of $3.00 per hour with a minimum charge of $6.00 per child each day the service is used. The child with the most hours during any week will be charged at a rate of $3.25 per hour.

NO CASH PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE KIDS CLUB SITE . CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS ONLY. PARENTS ARE ASKED TO WRITE THE NAME OF THE CHILD(REN) AND THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL ON THE CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS.

Parents will receive a bill for payment every two weeks.

Attendance

Parents/Guardians must sign the child in and out each day the service is used. parents/guardians must accompany their child in and/or out of the program regardless of the child's age. Only persons authorized to pick up the child may do so. We reserve the right to discontinue service if parents/guardians do not comply.

Days of Operation at Consolidated Sites

The program will operate on a consolidated site basis on days when school is not in session with the exception of weekends and holiday. The availability of consolidated site operations will depend on parent/guardian registration. Sites will be open only if there is sufficient registration. Parents must pre-register at the home site by the posted deadline and will be billed for this service. Please refer to the Kids Club calendar. These fees are non-refundable and non-transferable and will be forfeited if reservations are not honored. If there is insufficient registration, fees will be credited to your account or refunded.

The consolidated site program will operate from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm. Morning breakfast and afternoon snacks will be provided. Children must bring their own non-refrigerated sack lunch and drink for the noon meal. The charge for a consolidated day is $25.00. Additional children in the same family are charged $20.00 per day.
